This weekend we had a small family celebration for my little girl's first birthday ...and she celebrated by splitting her lip! Well, not that bad, although there was an awful lot of blood, and I did not do very well in the calm and collected department-- it was just the site of so much of it coming from her mouth that made me panic.. it definitely looked worse than it was (she may have bitten her lip on her way down from a stumble) and teeth were still in tact. As she sat a bit dazed, her brother and cousin took the liberty of opening (oh sorry, helped) her presents for her. She soon recovered though, to enjoy her oatmeal-banana muffin and new toys.
We have also both given and received this weekend, using Freecycle (mentioned a few posts back) and so far it seems like a really wonderful thing and people have been generous.
