We shall not cease from exploration, and the end of all our exploring will be to arrive where we started, And know the place for the first time. ~T.S. Eliot Four Quartets

Falling Back

The season is changing and surely felt this weekend as we changed the clocks back an hour. Spring forward, fall back. Despite falling back and a pumpkin awaiting carving, our sprouts have sprouted, giving our table a somewhat 'spring-like' appearance.

This photo shows them sprouting (in our fancy sprouter!).

Its is nice to be able to sprout any time of year, at home, and its so simple.

Already I'm starting to feel more introspective though, and planning for Christmas. I miss Thanksgiving living here, but find that the whole season comes together as one. Bonfire night is next week, which has some welcome traditions including parkin (ginger bread), roasting chestnuts and fireworks, but its not linked to giving thanks as such, unless you count being thankful that guy fawkes was caught and has had his effigy burnt every year since. It doesn't have that same feeling of coming together (and I'm not religious about it) with friends and family. But more on that next week, this week its Halloween, or Samhain.
Sprouted!
