Law #7 The Law of "Dharma" of Purpose in LifeEveryone has a purpose in life...a unique gift or special talent to give to others. And when we blend this unique talent with service to others, we experience the ecstasy and exultation of our own spirit, which is the ultimate goal of all goals. --Deepak Chopra, from The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success.

We shall not cease from exploration, and the end of all our exploring will be to arrive where we started, And know the place for the first time. ~T.S. Eliot Four Quartets

Law #6 The Law of DetachmentIn detachment lies the wisdom of uncertainty... in the wisdom of uncertainty lies the freedom from our past, from the known, which is the prison of past conditioning. And in our willingness to step into the unknown, the field of all possibilities, we surrender ourselves to the creative mind that orchestrates the dance of the universe. --Deepak Chopra, from The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success.
This one really resonates with my life...it explains the feeling that I've experienced living here in England versus living at home in America. Here, I feel more free, but not in the sense of free to be an idiot or live recklessly etc.. but free in the sense that I have a creativity and openness that I have not been able to cultivate in America. I have thought it was because this is not my natural terrain, I am an outsider in a way, and will always be and because of that, things look and feel different..its not so easy to take for granted, or go into cruise control mode. It is the freedom from past conditioning, because there is nothing here to remind me of the past, nothing that I have done repeatedly or easily.
I remember reading in the Bodhisattva's Way, I think it was (I no longer have the book) that a Bodhisattva must leave their homeland.. Having taken the Boddisattva oath, I am practicing, but certainly not one yet.. and this makes sense, that you must leave your home because you have to break out of your own comfort zone, put yourself out there. Of course one can get comfortable anywhere. Stepping into the unknown and staying there though, keeps your mind sharp, keeps it open, and you don't necessarily need a different location to do that. Through meditation we can train our mind to look and approach life differently.

Law #5 The Law of Intention and Desire
Inherent in every intention and desire is the mechanics for its fulfillment...intention and desire in the field of pure potentiality have infinite organizing power. And when we introduce an intention in the fertile ground of pure potentiality, we put this infinite organizing power to work for us. --Deepak Chopra, from The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success.

Law #4 The Law of Least Effort
Nature's intelligence functions with effortless ease...with carefreeness, harmony, and love. And when we harness the forces of harmony, joy, and love, we create success and good fortune with effortless ease.-- Deepak Chopra, from The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success.

Law #3 The Law of Karma, or Cause and Effect
Every action generates a force of energy that returns to us in like kind... what we sow is what we reap. And when we choose actions that bring happiness and success to others, the fruit of our karma is happiness and success. --Deepak Chopra from The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success

Law #2 The Law of Giving
The universe operates through dynamic exchange...giving and receiving are different aspects of the flow of energy in the universe. And in our willingness to give that which we seek, we keep the abundance of the universe circulating in our lives. --Deepak Chopra, from The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success

Seven thoughts for seven days
The source of all creation is pure consciousness...pure potentiality seeking expression from the unmanifest to the manifest. And when we realize that our true Self is one of pure potentiality, we align with the power that manifests everything in the universe.--Deepak Chopra, from The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success.
Its monday and I'm re-reading Deepak Chopra's book, The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success. Its not really about business as such though, and I look at it as spiritual laws of life. So, I've decided that for whoever is reading this, I will post a snippet from each chapter, each day of this week. Its just a snippet as I imagine Mr. Chopra would want you to read his book directly, but I'm putting it here for inspiration. It weaves in nicely with the rather disheartening surfing experience I just wrote about.
